There are infections that are limited to a small number of people who are immune-compromised, but for the most part you are probably referring to overgrowth by yeasts as a result of antibiotic use. Yeasts are a normal part of the group of microbes that inhabit our gut but the delicate balance of different organisms can be upset. This is treatable.
