Hi there. My name is Jacob and I'm writing this in behalf of my Fiancé Isamar. She has been to countless doctors and specialists and none of them can tell us what's wrong, maybe you can. She has been diagnosed with PCOS and they tell her she's diabetic, but not diabetic which doesn't make any sense. She often goes numb in parts of her body such as ;her arms her legs, and her hands. She has been told it is due to poor blood flow. But yet they say it is not certain and cannot therefore be treated. She also blanks out. More often now than before, but has been having this issue for a long time. Today I got a text from her while I was at work. Telling me that while she was driving she blanked out several times and almost crashed. She also stated that she could hardly move at all, and was going home because she felt ill. I rushed home and when I got here she told me that the bottom half of her legs felt like they were on fire, and it was causing severe pain. Yet when I touched the bottom half of her legs they both felt extremely cold, and when I touched the top half of her legs they felt unusually hot. I'm at a loss I have studied medicine and even went through a good amount of research to try to discover exactly what ails her, alas to no avail. I am truly worried for her health. If anyone knows anything about what might be causing this onslaught of symptoms, please speak. It would be monumentally helpful. Thank you.

Dear Jacob and Isamar,--I have been answering on the thread of peripheral neurapathy on this site recently. ( I am NOT a doctor and my own PN is mild--in the feet and has remained mild for a decade. I am 76 without any prescriptions or ailments.) But yet I have occasional mild seizures which seem to be termed "transcient global amnesia." Medical books claim the cause of TGA is unknown. And it might occur often or just once in a lifetime. It is not connected with any other forms of seizures. Although I take many nutritional supplements, I am most fervent about NIACIN. It works on sludge in the arteries down to the capillaries. One has to ignore the "niacin flush" which will be severe for up to two weeks, but that is part of its work. "You are as young as your arteries." Also, regardless of the conflicting information these days about fats---I have simply been "no-fat" for forty years--except a bit of fish oil. The body makes its own cholesterol. Also, I am a big fan of Vit-C and put ascorbic acid in all the water I drink. (along with other supplements) I sweetening that with saccharin. If Isamar's problem is circulatory, the straight niacin should help. I witnessed it dramatically reverse intermittent claudication! But that was also coupled with a no-fat diet. I hope this helps. ----Eric

Dear Jacob and Isamar, I responded a few days ago and it is listed below. I might add. It would seem there are a few problems and not just one. And you did not mention any drugs or even over the counter meds Isamar might be taking. One--for instance---pseudoephedrine, can cause sudden blank outs like you describe. Of ten people that to lose weight. To make sure there are no interactions---try a fasting for a week on non-fat dry milk. Or if you cannot take lactose/glactose---then maybe just whey. And maybe a pro-biotic. Cleanse out any conflicts. Then assess the situation? ----Eric

This sounds like very LOW B12 - is she vegetarian ? Also her VitD could be low ....

Also the Thyroid needs testing correctly - happy to help. Are you in the UK ?

Scroll down in the above link to read all the signs and symptoms of Low B12.

Doctors are very poor at diagnosing both the Thyroid and B12 issues.

Hi

A lot of her symptoms are what I had and no doctor could diagnose anything really. I also had atypical trigeminal neuralgia. I had MRA, MRI and CT scan to rule anything out including MS. I seeked numerous answers but came across dental treatment which I have been under a dentist for 2 and half years with nothing short of amazing.

I am certainly not saying this is the cure but it has certainly got rid of my migraines, nausea, burning sensations, urinating frequently, women issues, twitches in my right eye, heavy legs and breathing issues. Just another option; as I extremely empathise with her.

The best of luck to her in whatever approach she takes

I'm not sure what you mean by "blanks out". Do you mean seizures? Seizure disorders can cause PCOS. Diabetes can cause PCOS. Conversely, PCOS can cause high blood sugar. This might be what they meant by "it is diabetes, but is not diabetes". Certainly, they aren't very good at explaining anything. What kinds of doctors has she been to? Has she seen an endocrinologist? A neurologist? Has she ever been to a Functional Medicine specialist? She needs a doctor who can explain things well, even if he/she doesn't have all the answers, and she needs a doctor who can at least figure out what kind of a specialist she should be referred to. No doctor can know everything, but a good primary care doctor should have verbal skills as well as a broad view of what's out there in the world of specialties. It sounds like she does not have such a doctor. I wish you guys luck in your search. It took me six years to get a diagnosis for my "mystery symptoms", I hope you get your answers faster than that.

Hi

May I suggest she watches two You Tube videos called The Divided Mind and Chronic Pain is an Epidemic Fear., She can message me afterwards for more information.

Hope the above ‘starts’ her journey to a pain free future.

This sounds like it may be complex partial epilepsy. Have her see a neurologist for an EEG.
