HELP!! ABNORMAL ECHOCARDIOGRAM!! I don't understand it

I got my echocardiogram results back through an app on my phone but my doctor is on vacation and hasn't called to explain. Here's my results/report please help

Interpretation Summary

Mildly depressed LVEF

Moderately dilated LV.

Procedure: A complete two-dimensional transthoracic echocardiogram was performed (2D, M-mode,

spectral and color flow Doppler). The study was technically good with many images being of high

quality. Cardiac rhythm: Normal Sinus Rhythm.

Left Ventricle: The left ventricle is moderate to severely dilated. Ejection Fraction = 40-45%.

The

anteroseptal wall is mildly hypokinetic . The septal wall is moderately hypokinetic . Normal

diastolic function.

Left Atrium: The left atrial size is normal.

Right Atrium: The right atrial size is normal.

Right Ventricle: The right ventricular size, wall thickness and systolic function are normal.

Aortic Valve: The aortic valve is trileaflet and structurally normal. There is no aortic stenosis

demonstrated. There is no aortic insufficiency noted.

Mitral Valve: The mitral valve is structurally normal. There is trace mitral regurgitation.

Tricuspid Valve: The tricuspid valve is structurally normal. There is trace tricuspid

regurgitation.

Pulmonic Valve: The pulmonic valve is not well visualized.

Arteries: The aortic root is normal size. The ascending aorta is not well visualized.

Effusion: The pericardium is normal.

It means exactly what it says. Your left ventricle is slightly dilated, and the wall between the two halves of the heart is weak and sluggish. He needs to put that together with other information, such as your electrocardiogram, and X-ray images of your heart, as well as your stress test, and perhaps a cardiac catheterization, and then maybe he can make some conclusions. The diagnosis could range from a heart attack to a congenital problem with the heart muscles, even to a false alarm and diagnosis of healthy. The echo is only PART of the data he is collecting. Don't go into a panic until you find out how that particular test fits into the big picture.

Moderate to severely dilated.. I've never had heart problems, only a failing kidney and undiagnosed pain for 3 years thats been recently resolved and was due to a huge stone. I have no idea about any of this. My GP told me the damage was irreversible and is considered a heart disease but my cardiologist has to be the one to diagnose me so I have to continue waiting until tomorrow. I'm 31 with 2 small daughters so this is just really hard to take in.
