Since being told I have FND which was a shock. I am learning to appreciate any good days I get. I have had negative responses from some friends and work will not accept it as valid - am fighting it but I feel that I can cope and I don't care if so called friends and my Hitler like boss tell me it does me no favours. I have only been diagnosed recently and am reading up on it and although part of me doesn't want to think that my brain hates me and I want to fight it. I haven't had many pain free days since 2021 when it started. Fobbed off with it's the menopause for ages, waited over a year for neurology appointment. I think we should lobby an MP to champion find and make the NHS aware that we deserve better treatment and respect. Just an idea...

We can all do our bit .. and some MP's have been doing more than others. see link
Your brain doesn't hate you, try and think of it as its trying to tell you something, maybe to slow down physically/take on less emotionally (to name but a few). Its just a bit overwhelmed (with neurons firing here there and everywhere) at the moment and signals are going awry.
Education is key and having OT/PT and Specialists on board with a multi-disciplinary approach is key (these depend on your symptoms). You learn tools and techniques that help you manage the symptoms and regain control.
I always believe the brain is taking control to protect itself and our bodies (the host), so my looking after our mind and our bodies (ie ourselves) is so important and instead of getting of thinking about what when wrong today, flip it on its head and concentrate on what went right.
Eventually, you will gain back control.
Think of a basic movement like walking, its automatic, the predictions and matching sensory input happen before we have even realised, yet sometimes we fall. If we fall time and time again this changes our predictions (as our brain gets lazy and remembers the latest), so we in essence, have to add additional input to change it back. Very similar with our behaviours, but if we change our negative behaviours to positive behaviours then change can happen for the better.
