Any advice on LU 177?

I don't know if I'll be a candidate for the procedure because of kidney issues, but I still want to make an informed decision between that and risk bone pain from BAT. My MO is pushing for LU 177 if possible.

I want to continue living for as long as possible, not just breathing as long as my body will let me. Can anyone please share their experience with LU 177, and if allowed, their experience with bone pain and BAT?

I'm 56 and one infusion into LU177. So far, reduced bone pain and no side effects to speak of. My dad just turned 90 and recently completed the full six doses to remission. He complained of nausea with the later infusions. But, he's 90!

Thanks. It seems like dealing with the several days of inconvenience dealing with radiation will be the real problem.

Hi Russ,

From what I’ve read and from the guys I’ve communicated with who have had the treatments, the docs watch your progress carefully during the six infusions, and if you react within the guidelines that they have established and are acceptable to your particular situation, it appears worth the risks. Where are you considering doing it?

Sounds like your BAT adventure is getting painful? Sorry to hear this.

Good luck,

Jeff

Thank you. Apparently the pain I have is not cancer related. I felt very well during my BAT therapy. It's just that I'm 76 and I know something is going to kill me sooner or later. I just want to enjoy my life until that time comes.

Hi Russ,

I too am a seventy-six years old, and after my BCR RT, I experienced lower back pain that I feared might be PCa related. After consulting with a orthopedic spine specialist, getting a DEXA, CT and MRI, I learned that I have five compression fractures (four have healed over the years) and the fifth is probably the source of the back pain. The DEXA scan revealed severe osteoporosis and bone mineral density issues. My osteoporosis appears to be hereditary bad luck and poor behavioral habits, so now that becomes the primary focus. I need to avoid falling down and breaking some bones. Thankfully, thus far the PCa has not migrated into my bones yet. Everything aches, and yes, you’re right. Something is going to kill us eventually. Just keep playing rope-a-dope and your chin tucked in to avoid an upper-cut that might take you out.

Jeff

Russ,

I have started a thread to gather info on the LU-177 treatments. I hope to start LU-177 PNT2002 soon with Dr Tagawa in Weill Cornell in NYC. it is a newer version that has 4 treatments at 8 week intervals.

Cheers,

Buddy

Thanks. I'm due to start in about a month if my kidneys can take it. I'll post frequently after that if anyone is interested.
