2nd Opinion from JHU

Hi all:

I had MRI-guided Uronav biopsy on Dec 7, 2022 at UW-Health. Showed one core GL 6 at 5%.

Second opinion from JHU has the same finding as UW-Health but increased the percentage of GL6 to 10%.

This is higher volume than before:-(

Still AS? Or should I contemplate treatment?

I chatted with someone from Epstein's lab (a junior pathologist) because they offered:-) He said any treatment at this point he considers to be over treatment. I guess I am reacting to increase in the volume.

Confirmatory biopsy will be on Dec 7 of this year.

Thanks for your feedback.

Hi witantic,

I've not posted this podcast previously because I thought it wouldn't be relevant to most of the 'visitors' to this particular hub of the HU website. However, after reading your post today I think that if you have time, you might find the content very informative and relevant. It might also explain why some are advising that any treatment would be 'overtreatment'.

With these podcasts there's always a bit of chatter and friendly banter which I quite enjoy because I know the people involved but you can easily skip over bits and move forward more quickly.

Trust you find the answer that's right for you...whatever that is...

Marnie.

yes, overeacting.....10% is still very low volume> did you have a multiparametric MRI to spot any trouble area that biopsy may have missed? That podcast should help you!!!

Be very vigilant, I had Gleason 6 for many years and was told that it seldom becomes aggressive, I was lax on PSAs and follow-ups. see my profile for my history.

Hope for the best but plan for the worst.

Yes, I plan to be very vigilant. Once it is out of the capsule, it is a different ball game. Your story is very instructive indeed. Thanks for having such a detailed profile. Hope you are doing well. God bless!

I would be interested to know the size of the prostate and how many “sticks”? In other words, sampling universe...... Your results so far are excellent.

Thanks, sir. Two suspicious spots on MRI and so 4 pokes from each those spots. 24 additional pokes from standard areas. Total pokes 32. Not great symptoms for few days after the biopsy. Prostate mildly enlarged (65-70cc). MRI showed signs of BPH and prostatitis.
