There is some evidence that stress can affect platelet levels and activity. Here is one example.

My own thought is that we know stress can exacerbate inflammatory response. In turn, inflammation can cause reactive thrombocytosis. Just a theory based on a bit of a logical sequence.

The bottom line is that stress is bad for your overall health. Unmanaged stress can be deadly.
