How serious are palpitations?

Hi I have them a lot some days I’m told there not dangerous I’m naturally an anxious person anyway which doesn’t help ! I’m on a beta blocker have been for years but apart from slowing my heart down I still get the ectopic beats or flutters hope this helps but I do see a cardiologist for a echo scan every 2 year for other issues in heart unrelated to ectopics
