Newish diagnosis and hello

Hello everyone

I was diagnosed with seropositive RA in February 2022. I started getting symptoms one month after my first Covid vaccine (how fun) and thought it was RSI for ages. Turns out those fun "environmental factors" had unlocked something hidden in my genes, so here we are.

Currently supporting Nurofen single-handedly whilst I wait for my next meeting with my consultant. I am not on social media so I have felt pretty isolated with all of it and i haven't really met anyone else my age (40) with this condition, so it has been incredibly fun* so far...

So that's why I am here.

Marfs xx

*this is probably sarcasm. Probably 🙂

They say everyday is a school day! I’ve had RA for over 40 years being diagnosed in my mid 30’s. Having not heard these expressions before it does explain the difference between my GP’s and consultant’s diagnosis. The drugs used are very powerful and once the right ones for you are found they work well. Take advantage of the good days!
