I wondered if anyone had any info on current levels of risk for Covid for people who have had three vaccinations but are on methotrexate (so immuno-suppressed).
Just trying to get some insight into how effective the vaccines are proving to be.
thanks

I’m not a medical person!! My understanding is that the vaccines don’t stop you getting covid they reduce the impact on you. However if you are on MTX and or steroids your immune system is at risk and
1. If you were on the original shielding list then you should have a personal home PCR test which you do if positive on a lateral flow. If this is positive you are automatically in line to be treated at home with one of the new drugs
2. Also you (I) should have had 3 jabs plus a booster. In my case I found out after 2 + 1 and I’m not too sure whether I can have a third after the booster.
Hello, I am on methotrexate and have had 2 shots plus booster shot. I came down positive several weeks ago. The omicron variant is the covid du jour. Bad headache, stiff neck, runny nose lasted a few weeks until I tested negative. Getting covid is serious and I am basically a recluse. When I do go anywhere I were masks. From what I understand roughly 30% get omicron and are asymptomatic but still can infect others! Omicron is extremely contagious.
Late comment sorry. I got covid after 3 vaccin. (2x AZ and 1x PFZ) It was awful but I did not need to go to hospital. The covid help people phoned each day for oxygen levels and pulse etc. I was a week too early for antivirals to be given sadly- had long covid and flaring RA. Am now recovering better and have since had two more vaccine shots (PFZ and MOD)My other immune suppressed friends have also had vaccines and got mild covid. I think the protection is through degree of illness. I read about a study had showed COVID to still be present, hidden in gut etc for many of those with Long COVID ( data taken from first year of pandemic, I believe) They were surmising that antivirals could be somewhat effective for treating those with long covid type symptoms. I do not know the details or validity of study but found it interesting.
