Hi Bluer. I can understand your frustrations when you are trying so desperately for a baby. However, I would strongly advise against taking Clomid unless you are monitored by an infertility specialist. You need scans and blood tests to check all is well whilst taking the drug. Clomid should be prescribed under the supervision of a specialist, and this is why your GP will not prescribe it. Perhaps your GP would do some blood tests to check whether your hormone levels are OK? A semen analysis may be checked at the same time too. Remember also, that a specialist would almost certainly check that your Fallopian tubes were OK, before prescribing something like Clomid, as no point if you have blocked tubes – who knows? Should all be well with your blood tests and your husband’s/partner’s sperm, then usually you do have to try for 2 years before being referred, unless a problem is found. I wish you well with this, but please seek professional help if you feel you need it, rather than going to the Internet. Kind regards Diane

Hi DianeArnold,

Thank you so much for your moral support. All blood tests were done and came back all normal. My husband sperm count result is fine. I was diagnosed hypothyroidism and I recently found out I got fibroids. This conditions doesn't bother me too much as I heard a lot of women stories it all went well they are blessed with kids. I am deeply desperate to have kids, I'm turning 44 years old this month that's why I'm so very impatient of waiting and hoping then went out negative ..sigh...can't wait for natural process and doctor's referral as it took ages. I heard positive result with clomid which gives me hope. I'm trying to do my own research but I found I can't buy clomid without prescription. I don't know really what to do. Thanks.

I have pcos. Both my children are clomid babies. Got pregnant each time on 2rd cycle taking 50mg. So cute 😊I've found Clomid here: reliablewebs.net/go/CLOMID ❤️ and got it with couponcode: GET10.

Lots of luck to you all

Hi Bluer. It’s good to know that all is well with your blood tests and husband’s sperm count. As you will know, thyroxin is a hormone, so having an underactive thyroid needs to be kept in check too. It’s difficult I know, but you are just going to have to try and be patient and wait for your consultation to come through. When your appointment comes, then why not ring the consultant’s secretary and tell him/her that you would be willing to accept a cancelation, just in case it gets you there quicker – worth a try. Meanwhile, just make sure that you have regular intercourse – every 3 days or more often if you want, so that there is always some sperm waiting in your tubes, providing your tubes are OK. They will just keep replacing themselves and give you your best chance in case your ovulation should be a bit early or late - and leave the Clomid to the professionals. Kindest regards Diane

Hi DianeArnold,

Hi Bluer. Have a look at our website WWW.infertilitynetworkuk.com Go to the “NHS Funding” page. There is an “interactive map” over on the left. Click on it and hover over the area where you live and you will be able to see what treatment is available for you. Also look at hfea.gov.uk this is the “Human Fertilisation & Embryology Association”. They give the licenses to clinics/hospitals in order that they can carry out infertility treatment. You will be able to find all the clinics in the UK there and also what they can offer you. Bit of homework for you! Regards Diane

Hi DianeArnold,

Thank you for this information. I've checked the website however, I found out I am not eligible as because of my age bracket as I am 43 year old. Sigh...

Hi Bluer. It is important to tell yourself that the feelings you are experiencing are quite normal. It is also important that you choose how and with whom you spend your time at the moment in order to minimise any distress and to look after yourself. On a practical level, maybe you could start a new hobby, if you have time. Also remember that most people experiencing infertility do so as a couple and often feel very isolated, so apart from each other, it would be good to confide in one of your best friends – if you feel that you can. There are always going to be pregnant women and babies around Bluer, we can’t alter that, but remember that you do not have to visit them or go to parties etc. If invited, then just send a card with perhaps a gift of money or a voucher, saying that you look forward to meeting “whoever” in the future. Have you thought about attending a support group? Unfortunately, there is not always one in your immediate area, but it can sometimes be beneficial to go to one outside your district in order to see how other hospitals/clinics treat their patients and how the patients themselves cope. Most only meet up once a month or two months, so if you feel you want to mix, it could be worth the journey. There’s always the opportunity of counselling which might help, if you feel you need it. BIG HUGS Diane

Hi DianeArnold,

Thank you for being there, you uplift my spirit. Me and my husband is trying to cope the stress we are experiencing at this time by enjoying each other company. I would love to get involve and mix up with the group but I am isolating myself at this stage.

Your moral support and guidance is highly appreciated. A shoulder to lean on. I thank you Diane. Xx

Hi there, if I were you I'd change my doctor! Why on earth would he not refer you when you're that bit older? No offence. I went to my doctor last Feb at the age of 38 and he immediately referred me to our local hospital and I'd only been trying for 10 months. I understand your desperation though; I feel exactly the same. Where do you live? Louise

Hi Louiemac73,

Thank you for your reply, it means a lot. My GP can't refer me as I need to go to hospital. I read NICE guidelines and was so more frustrated to know because my age is the barrier I am 43 now so I totally hopeless to ask help through NHS unless maybe to go private. you know what happened lately I just wasted my time waiting my appointment with hospital which my GP referred me for my prolactin check as she said a bit high and I found out yesterday when I rang the surgery the hospital hasn't received the letter from them..sigh really...I live in NW2 area.

Thank you.x

Do you have the money to go privately? It is frustrating when doctors just seem to fob you off; why waste your time. She should have been more honest with you and faced the age issue straight away. There are places abroad where you can get treatment..... Are you ovulating?

Hi Louiemac73,

If I got money I don't let myself beg and Que. I look more miserable. I am wishing there is still door for me, I will find answer to my problem soon and looking forward my age is not the hindrance. Based on the blood tests result yes I am ovulating.

Is any body knows how and where to buy clomid tablet as I wanted to try? Thanks.

Hi Bluer, please re-read Diane's first answer, you need medical observation throughout such a course of drugs as your response needs to be monitored to make sure that you remain healthy, and also that it is suitable for you to take.

Hi flower girl.

Thank you for your message. Yes, actually I am enlighten when me and my husband spoke with obgynie consultant, he's from foreign country and he advised as to have a hysterosalpingography to check my tubes. I'm a bit calm and looking forward everything would be alright. hugs flower girl.

Hi Bluer,

I was in exactly in the place you are now a few months ago, I would have brought clomid anywhere, but after reading up on this drug, if you buy them and are not under specialist this can lead to damaging your Fallopian tubes or some cases lead to a hysterectomy then your chances of ever having children with become nil. I went to herts and Essex fertility centre for an open day (free) and you get so much advice and I came out of there feeling very positive.. Maybe have a search on that's just to get an idea. Try some relaxation therapy too, take up a hobby, keep your mind of the one thing that matters. X
