Hi all - happy new year! Hope you are all keeping well ♥️
a random question as you are all fountains of knowledge!
On my 3rd ivf cycle - heading into our 4th transfer.
Ever since our 2nd transfer worked (but sadly ended in miscarriage) I have had really bad hair loss.
I have a lot of thick hair anyway so am used to shedding it but this is noticeable difference and when my hairs up it looks so so thin!
does anyone know if this is normal post miscarriage or even just during treatment, or had any experience? A friend told me that post-pregnancy hair loss seems worse because you don’t really lose it during pregnancy.
bonus points for anything I can do to help it!
thanks xxx

Yes I had a lot of hair loss after my daughter's birth and after my miscarriages. It would literally come out in clumps in the shower and i have thick hair like yourself. I was told to take biotin and zinc.x
I had quite significant hair loss after egg collection as well as after the birth of my son. The hair is just starting to grow back now (10 months post partum).
I have not tried anything but I read that biotin really helps - just confirm with your clinic it is safe to take before/during treatments.
My hair first became realy dry and a few month after the MSC and a couple of months later I had a few weeks where I was shedding my hair like a husky on a hot day it was crazy; I have thick curly hair and as a result I ended up with a fringe which is not a good look for me... I had one round of stims and 3 transfers total plus a couple of rounds of antibiotics for endometritis. Not sure what caused it in the end, could be a mix of all of the above. It happened to me once before when I had my thyroid hormones messed up, but all grew back after it normalised, so I am hoping sooner or later our bodies will get over it and get back to normal 🤞
Hey- I had hair loss after a misscariage anat 10 weeks and also not had it with others a bit earlieron. I Had loads after the birth of my son too. I found biotin hair loss vitamins and a plantur shampoo helpful to stop it but it did take a few months to restore fully (I have loads of thick curly hair so didnt miss it all that much but did have wee stubble bits near the front when hair was up!) I think it’s our hormones all dropping and then restoring that does it xx
yes I had hair loss too after miscarriage but that’s because you lose quite significant amount of blood and most likely your ferritin/iron levels are low - do get them checked.
