looking for a bit of reassurance really, I’ve been on oestrogen for 18 days now and after two scans my endometrium is only at 6mm. I am being treated between two centres (Exeter and London) so now waiting to see what London want to do. I am fast loosing hope and and beginning to think that this just isn’t going to happen for me and my husband after a previously cancelled cycle before Christmas. Has anyone been through anything similar?
thanks

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this but please don't lose hope! I was in your situation for 5 cycles and each one was cancelled due to thin lining. I now have a little boy and currently pregnant and hoping I'll have a second healthy baby 🙏.
Is this the first time your lining has been thin? It can't change from month to month so it doesn't mean it will be the same next cycle. What level of estrogen are you taking? Pills and patches? You may discover that this is just a one off for you but if not there are lots of things you can do to try and thicken your lining so please don't lose hope. Some women don't respond well to artificial estrogen and find that a natural FET is better for them. There will be a way!!
Thanks so much for your reply, this is the 3rd time it has been thin, I’m wondering if that’s just how thick my body can get to? I’m on pills and patches and feeling fairly rough from them.
Congratulations on your little boy and soon to be second! What lovely news ❤️
thank you. I really know how tough the lining issue is, you just feel like you never get to the start line.
Have you had a scratch? I did and it did seem to make an improvement but I still only ever got to 6.8mm. My consultant just said that some people have thinner linings and that's ok!
I found that doing less exercise and putting on some weight seemed to help. It was hard at the time but I did see some improvement. I also think that low dose aspirin really helped. All worth talking to your consultant about!
Hello, not sure if this helps but 6mm is the minimum for my clinic so some will go ahead with that thickness. Mine was at 6.6mm and I was given the go ahead and ended up with a BFP (still very early days, though). On a previous cycle, my consumer recommended Vit E at a high dose (4 x 400 units a day) - it seemed to have made some difference this time, although thickness does vary from cycle to cycle so it may have just been coincidence xx
hi, also struggling with the thin lining and although highest does of oestrogen my lining won’t grown thicker, we’ve had 4 cycles cancelled now and it’s pretty frustrating and tough, so I can feel your pain.
We are now going for ‘quality over quantity’ so aiming for a good looking lining rather than 6mm (our target is actually over 4mm now).
Wishing you every luck in the world, i know it feels lonely but keep going. x
