Has anyone tried MSP? What can I expect from this protocol? I have been given low dose of folisurge 150iu and cooking 100mg. I am 38 years with low egg reserves, 3 failed ETs.

hi lovely! I can't give any advice, but I'm about to start MSP as well. I have low amh and didn't respond well to high stims last round. x
Hello. It’s really hard to tell you what to expect from this protocol as everyone responds so differently to different protocols. I’ve done 7 cycles. 3 of them were cancelled as I ovulated during stims even with drugs to stop that from happening.
I’ve done dosages from 200 up to 450 and had better results on 200 than I did on 450.
I have read high dosages push your ovaries too hard and they just won’t respond which I have found for me.
Slow and gentle works better for me. It gave me a longer time on stims -12 days- which I believe lined up with how my natural cycle.
In the early days of ivf they only aimed to get one egg out and then it became a mindset that more eggs were better but that can also lead to quantity over quality.
I hope you get some good results with your cycle 🙏💕
Thank you so much for sharing your experience.. my doctors are also worried about the quality and therefore this approach..This is my first MSP, I have been on high doses before got good number of eggs but quality was an issue..
Well I have read lots of stories where MSP has been successful for women after conventional IVF had failed. It’s such a delicate process but all you can do is trust your doctors and trust your body. I can’t honestly tell you if the lower dosages for me created better quality eggs because I froze them all without fertilising them. I do have faith though that they are.
But I did get the same number and even more compared to other protocols with higher doses.
I really hope it works for you x
Your journey sounds very similar to mine so wanted to just drop you a line. I was diagnosed with DOR, low AMH and recently Adenomyosis after having multiple IVF treatments and failing the last 7 years. I am older than you, as turned 40 last August.
Personally I have always responded better with mild/minimum stim cycles, my ovaries don't respond at all to conventional IVF and whenever I have tried I have had to abandon the cycle due to low or no follicle numbers. Apparently people who suffer with low amh etc seem to respond better with less medication. So I would personally recommend giving this a try to see if quantity and quality of eggs retrieved increase. I also got my 1st IVF cycle positive when I switched to mild stims, unfortunately it resulted in a chemical miscarriage but it was the furthest I had ever gotten and before I had received my adenomyosis diagnosis.
I am currently under treatment to tackle the adenomyosis but hope to go through another mild stim cycle in April.
I would love to know how your journey goes and wish you all the best in your journey going forward.
