Noticing Shorter periods

Hi ladies, I am a little concerned. I'm 34. Never been pregnant in my life. Periods have been regular never been late or early. Clock work, up until now. Me and partner trying for 2-3yrs and absolutely nothing hes tested and hes ok. I cant get an appointment ever with my GP.

Now my periods are getting shorter should I consider this me going on the change? As this is definately not normal for me.

Secondly has anyone ever had a full heavy period pregnant. I wont be wasting anymore money on tests as I have spent alot of the years testing which is always negative. I'm thinking more testing for the change instead. As I know this can start happening from 30 onwards.

How much shorter have they been getting? In my 30s my cycle went from 28 days to 26 days; now at 41 it's sometimes 25 days sometimes 26 days, but I still ovulate every month and I'm still technically fertile (we're doing IVF for male factor problems). So just the cycle getting a little shorter as you get older isn't necessarily a huge problem. But it does sound like you need to get checked out to find out why you're not conceiving - it's not a new problem, it's been going on for 2-3 years, so that doesn't sound like it's necessarily related to your age. I know what a pain it is trying to get a GP appointment but you do need to push - even think about switching to a different surgery if there's another in your area, to see if it improves things.

Hi Jayne. You must persist and get an appointment with your GP so he/she can order a couple of blood tests for you to check out your hormones initially, then refer you to a specialist, as you have been trying long enough. Good luck! Diane
