I think it’s about 1/4 including the core of a pineapple a day. The core is most beneficial part of it as it contains bromelian.👌🏻

I have a smoothie every morning with pineapple, papaya, coconut, chia seeds & orange juice ; it’s full of anti inflammatories if that is what you are looking for.

A glass of milk a day is also good as it helps thicken the lining too.

All the best xoxo

You only need a couple of Brazil nuts a day to provide you with enough selenium, they contain really high levels. During my first fet I was eating handfuls a day and then totally freaked out as I was eating far more then the recommended dose. Have a look at Brazil nut selenium toxicity, these things should come with a warning!!! All the very best X

Thank you, was worried either no point in having them if not eating enough but similarly worried about overdoing it and them having an undesirable effect! So much info out there, want to give self best shot. Good luck with your journey x

It's so hard to know what to do for the best isn't it. I've heard mixed reports about drinking milk and still don't know whether it's good or bad to have! It's exhausting trying to get our bodies just right for this isn't it! All the very best X

Apparently you have to drink full fat milk as skimmed or s skimmed can have the opposite effect (make fertility worse). However.... I don't drink dairy at all and doesn't seem to have affected our cycles. The only point of drinking milk is for 'good' fats but you can get this from a balanced diet anyway - things like nuts, seeds, avocado, good oils etc. (all in moderation) will all be good for lining health. I did read that you should cut down on dairy for endometriosis etc. due to potential hormone interference but this could be from another one of those studies making something of nothing! xx

Thank you for this, never knew that about skimmed milk. Have recently switched to almond milk so I hope this is ok. It's so hard to do what's right and for the best isn't it. All the very best to you X

To be honest I think the best thing is just a healthy diet, cutting out processed & junk food. There isn't really any scientific evidence behind certain foods being better or worse for fertility 😊 xxx

Very true, balanced diet is the key I guess although as a vegetarian I do worry about getting enough protein. Started munching on protein bars until I found out how much sugar are in the darn things!

I wouldn't worry too much about that, I am mostly vegan and I only counted my protein doing ivf but don't really anymore. I'm having twins and one of them is 2 weeks ahead (so huge!!) so I don't think my protein intake has affected anything. As long as you eat things like veg, beans, nuts and (limited) soya products you'll be fine. Too much protein can be bad for you anyway xxx

That's reassuring to know thank you! I tend to eat most of those things and have cut out soya, eat quorn instead. Rely on eggs also to try and boost my protein level. So lovely to hear you're expecting twins and that one is 2 weeks ahead!! For my next transfer they are debating whether to transfer 2. Where my previous 2 transfers it has only been one, but we shall see. X

So was I! I googled interaction of Brazil nuts and thyroid (my levels were slightly high) and then scared myself silly! I even emailed my clinic as I was so worried but think they thought I was being ridiculous! All the best to you X

Thanks for the heads up. My thyroid levels were also on the high end (for IVF apparently but normal otherwise, so on 25mg of thyroxine). I tend to alternate between Brazil nuts and walnuts. Will ease of the Brazil nuts. Pineapple is also controversial - there seems to be rules about when you can eat it so I am avoiding it. Alternating between Pomegranate & beetroot juice so god knows if that is a no no too! Jeesh - google has a lot to answer for!!

All the best to you too xx

My thyroid levels were the same, in range but too high for ivf, which is a pain as I have to pay for the tablets. I agree about the pineapple and am also avoiding it. I tend to mix the beetroot and Pom juice together as I just can't stomach the beetroot juice on it's own! I agree, let's hope there's no controversy with that! X

Hi!

I am drinking a special fertility tea during the 1st half of my cycle which should stimulate ovulation/thickening of the lining. I just buy them on amazon. There is also something called "seed cycling". Its a spoon of flax and pumkin seeds a day. At least this helps me psychologically ;-)

However, I totally agree that a balanced and healthy diet without sugar and processed food is the best for everything :-)

Good luck! x

Forgot to say: Dairy is a highly disputed topic! Lots of people say that it is bad. The reason for this is that a lot of people have a subclinical lactose intolerance, so dairy is inducing bowel inflammation but only to a level that would not make you feel bad. However, this level of chronic inflammation can have a negative effect on your general health and fertility! I dont want to say it is bad, it can just be for some people. I still do consume dairy, but as already said in the comment above, only full fat products (not only milk also joghurt,...) as eating (good!) fat is the key to a healthy diet.

I'd agree, I've never felt healthier since giving up meat & dairy. I used to have terrible bowels and it has now completely cleared up. Apparently meat products take up to 72 hrs to digest properly, and red meat especially can sit in your colon for weeks/months - just the thought of it makes me feel nauseous! It's not for everyone I realise but I think cutting down is always a good thing ☺️

Thanks for reminding me! On my last successful cycle I was munching a few brazil nuts a day along with pineapple. This time I’ve only been eating pineapple 🍍 I’m currently on day 4 post- blasto transfer. Hope it’s not too late to start with he brazil nuts now!

I’m off out to buy some brazil nuts shortly xxx

following xx
