Trigger shot done ✅

So I have done my trigger shot tonight ready for my EC on Monday. I am shit scared but desperately hoping for a good result.

I don’t know yet if I will be knocked out or just sedated. I don’t respond well to anesthetiser, it doesn’t work, so I’m pretty scared about the whole thing.

Wish me luck.

You will be fine!!! I just triggered too, egg collection 8.30 Monday! Good luck! I’ve been awake for the last two egg collections and I’m being awake for his one too, for me it’s better than being asleep and coming around all confused. But that’s easy for me to say as we only ever got 6 eggs as max so retrieval wasn’t too awful. You’ve got this!! Xx

That’s really interesting, the clinic havnt spoken to me about it at all.

Regarding your EC did they give you anything? Is it painful?

I’m in at 7:30, I will be thinking of you. Xx

I was quite worried as my progress scans had been getting quite painful and the last nurse said the may not be able to get all follicles because my ovary was in an awkward position.

EC was fine didn't even feel them put the probe in. It was under sedation not general anaesthetic. So you are not unconscious but I basically feel asleep with the sedation. They we able to get all follicles.

Yer I’m similar, my left ovary is behind my uterus. I have also developed OHSS, I’m now taking tablets to counteract it.

They have said they will go ahead with the collection but they might have to them freeze them all until I settle back down to normal levels.

It is the pain side of things that I’m worried about.

Yes you’ll be in as I’m driving to the clinic, so I’ll be thinking of you! It’s not really painful, no! They give me a little something to take the edge off the pain, but not really a sedative, I prefer it as I don’t like being out of it. I’ve found it really interesting hearing them say when they have got an egg 😂

Good luck to you xxxx

I was awake too. They called it conscious sedation. I had a drip fed into my arm with pethadine. I wouldn’t say it was painful, just uncomfortable at times. They topped me up when I was uncomfortable. You’ll be fine either way. Good luck for tomorrow xx

Good luck to you both x

Good luck to you both. I have my transfer tomorrow (eek)!

I was asleep for mine, obviously felt nothing, a bit tender afterwards but for me it’s been the constipation thats been the worst bit, which was pressing again ovaries. Sorted now after a lovely dose of laxatives 🙈

Wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow xx

Thank you so much all of you. Iv been told by the clinic that because of my OHSS I need to rest today, so I will be having a sofa and film day I think.

Good luck for your transfer tomorrow Olivia80 and good luck with the collection Orla9298.

I just need to take a deep breath and get on with it. I just wish I New what the clinics plan was, I hate the unknown.

Me too, I’ve egg collection on Mon too! Wishing you lots of luck Xx

I found it so easy - I told the doctor to knock me out.

I then asked him when they are going to start and he said you are already finished!

Only thing that was bothering me was I was starving!

Not the same for everyone - but I worried a lot beforehand and the procedure itself was super easy for me.

Morning, well I am home and I am feeling ok. They knocked me out which was brilliant, it made me feel a lot better. After talking to them and telling them about my last experience with anesthetiser I felt much better.

I was a little sore after waking up but I feel ok now. They managed to get 14 eggs, we will find out tomorrow how many of those are viable and fertilising. They have given me a sick note for 2 weeks though.

How did you get on?

Xx

Ahhh that’s fab! Lots of rest now for you.

I had only a tiny amount of sedation to take the edge off, I was chatting all the way through to be anesthetist but it didn’t take too long as we only got 3 eggs. We were expecting 1 to 3 so I’m happy with 3 for natural modified ivf.

Fingers crossed for both of our calls!xx

Well if you were expecting 1-3 then 3 is really good. Good luck and rest up today. Fingers crossed for our calls tomorrow.
