Hi BabyLucas. Could just be the way baby is lying, or due to the Broad ligaments stretching. Have a word with your midwife, and see whether she can recommend, or refer you for some treatment. Diane

Thanks Diane. I called the GP earlier and they ask if the midwife will know about sciatica and they said no so I have separate appointment for that with the Doctor. I red carefully all he things about sciatica and I'm 95% sure that that's what I've got. It strange coz I didn't fall or anything and I've not heard about this before.

Hi BabyLucas. Ooo it's not nice! Let's hope you can get it sorted before you get much bigger. Diane

Thanks Diane. I had acupuncture last night and had a massage on the bum area coz the pain started from the bum. Surprisingly it's less painful now, it feels like in the next couple of days i will pain free from it. To be fair the pain started to ease even before I had the acupuncture so fingers cross X

Hi. I agree with "Tlove". Might be worth having a go, as your body will be completely supported in the water. Diane

I could feel it coming on in the first trimester and found that walking really eased it. Swimming is supposed to be great too. Try to stay somewhat active to prevent it.

Thanks Tlove it actually come and go it stopped for over a week after 3 weeks straight pain and then it's back again last week then in fine again today. I went to see my GP about it and the only thing he said is to drink paracetamol if needed.

I just started doing pregnancy yoga, some of those moves are nice for stretching, like child pose. Maybe worth looking into as the breathing should also help for labour and pelvic floor exercise should be useful too. I go to a class but perhaps there are YouTube videos you could follow.

My acupuncturist mentioned this to me and something I am interested doing possibly after the first trimester 😬

Ah yes, I forgot you have to wait until 14 weeks to start it. How far along are you? I highly recommend it anyway! The relaxation at the end is lovely and the instructor I have gets you to visualise the connection between you and your babies. They tend to run for short blocks as well, so you don't have to commit for weeks on end.
