BFP after IVF and waiting for first scan - anyone else?

I'm 6+4 today and still can't believe we got our BFP 2 weeks ago. However I'm driving myself mad with waiting for that first scan. After 2+ yrs of TTC I'm so frightened of it not actually working. My symptoms so far have been sore boobs, back pain, nausea + food aversion, cramps and brown spotting due to the pessaries. My scan is Thursday which sounds so far away. Anyone else waiting for their first scan after a very long journey of getting to this stage?

Hi Honeycombe_F you're a bit further along than me - my scan isn't for another 2 weeks. I know exactly how you feel - I got BFP last week and have been filled with so much anxiety and worry ever since. I feel like I've waited so long to get to this point but now that I'm here I'm petrified that it will all go wrong 😰 I've had very little symptoms so I'm almost resigned to the fact that it will be bad news at the scan 😢 I wish we could enjoy this moment! Hope you manage to get through these next few days before your scan - I'm trying to keep busy to avoid thinking too much about it. Very best of luck for Thursday xx🍀🍀

No don’t say that - some people have very little symptoms, even in natural pregnancies. It could be that your body is well adjusting to the hormones. Did you have a blood test done with your clinic to confirm? Your HCG were good?

2 weeks ago I only had sore boobs and cramps. Nausea started 1 week ago and has intensified the last 2 days. They could progress too. Take it easy and don’t do like me and read everything off the internet 😜. The latter has ruined my sleep last night!

Yeah! The waiting game doesn’t stop at all. I think that when you are making a baby naturally you just worry at every stage which seems crazy and normal. I am hoping that it goes well on Thursday so we can finally relax until 12 weeks. No one prepares you for that at all.

I am doing a pregnancy test every 4/ 5 days to stay sane and check that’s going well. This is my second FET so I am a bit anxious as all I want if for this pregnancy is to go well and have a healthy baby.

Let’s be there for each other! Xx

I never actually did a pregnancy test at home - I just did a blood test via my clinic to confirm pregnancy. I haven't done a test at home since -I'm too scared! Maybe I should do one this week to know one way or the other.I'm the same with reading stuff on the internet - just makes me feel more anxious! I need to step away from Dr. Google!

The only symptom I seem to have is mildly sore boobs but I wonder if I'm even imagining that! 🤔

The waiting is endless - I feel like I'm wishing my life away, just waiting to get over the next hurdle!

Just a one more day waiting for you - you're nearly there. Wishing you lots of love and luck for tomorrow xxx

Hi shaolin2010 ! The only reason why I had to do it at home was that I couldn’t go to my appointment so they said do a test at home. Tbh I have done one or 2 every week to reassure myself until the scan day.

The internet is a curse - not helpful to remove worries. I mean all the symptoms I have can either be great or bad. You never know 😜.

I am sure you aren’t imagining your sore boobs at all. Mine hurts and this morning they were painful. But the worst has been nausea. I had to call my GP today to get some help on that.

I excited for tomorrow but also dreading it. Fingers and toes crossed that it goes well!

I hope that you manage to get occupied until your scan. It will come soon! Xx
