J's anxiety is getting much worse, and has been diagnosed with sensory processing disorder

has anybody else had this diagnosis and any tips on how to deal with this would be really helpful. Loud noises are a real problem.

Don't worry; you will find most kids with FASD get told this because alcohol damages the developing brain and the central nervous system - so all the "signals" your senses send to your brain, all the feelings and sensations that the nervous system communicates to the brain - these are all basically screwed up. There is a good book called "The out-of-sync Child" which you can order from betterbooks.com (They are based in Dudley), which we found helpful.
