Hi Rifleman and welcome to EXI! I am here to help with any questions you might have about how it all works - but the main thing we want to do is to try to help you get more physically active bit by bit.

I empathise with the self control part - I can find it really difficult to get going, especially if I've left it a few days or I'm feeling tired/busy/overwhelmed (but once I'm moving I love it!)

Do you have hobbies or activities you enjoy? Is there a way to incorporate more physical activity into those? One tip I've read and found useful is to make the choice for activity easier so that you're more likely to go for it - here are some ideas that might help :)

Schedule a walk into your day for a time that is more likely to work for you so that it's "on your list" for the day.

Lay out your comfortable/working out clothes the night before if you've planned morning activities - so that they're the easiest thing to reach for and you're ready to go.

Just show up - sometimes if we have a big plan of a walk/workout etc it can feel overwhelming. Tell yourself you're just going to show up to the gym/park etc with no obligation to do anything. You'd be surprised how much you end up doing when you just show up :)

Make plans with friends/family. Accountability really does help! You can catch up just as well on a walk as over a pint/cuppa!
