Activity therapy for mental health

Mental health is something we’re starting to talk about more often and it’s important that you’re aware there is space to talk, there are actions you can take, and there is help. Looking after our mental health looks different to everyone. For some this could be going for a walk, others it is taking an extra half an hour in bed when you know your body and mind need it. Journalling, having accountability partners for the tasks you need to do in the day and even committing to physical activity every day to get your endorphins going.

Other times it may be about seeking professional help from your GP. As part of the EXi community, you have access to our audio-guided walks. This is an alternative approach to every day walking, where you engage in a fully immersive brisk walk, which we hope brings a break from your every day busy thoughts.

There is a high number of men who suffer from mental health challenges, yet there are a low number of men who seek treatment for depression or anxiety. How you’re feeling is important and the smaller steps you take today will set you up for a more supportive future.

One of these steps may be to seek expert help, there shouldn’t be any shame in talking or seeking the help that is right for you.
