Anyone have positive experience of peristeen? My 9 year old son is in nappies following severely impacted bowel and I really want to get him out of them...

Hi

Yes my daughter of 11 uses peristeen, she hates using it but excepts it makes things better keeps her clean and after a while of using it we find she has movement on her own and she uses the peristeen less

At the moment 2 movicol maintenance dose and peristeen every day or other day

Good luck x

Thanks so much for your reply, I’m going to ask the continence nurse if we should give it a go

Peristeen is amazing! It really helped my son- I would highly recommend it. There is also phone support from peristeen specialists as well as contact from nurses. My eldest son used it and I think it may be the next step for my youngest. I also had a friend with ms use it and he loves that he get a predicted bowel movement every day.
