Good evening to all, I have I shunt that was put in me after I was diagnosed with hydrocephalus in 1975. Well 2 yrs ago after having a credit scan don’t I was told that there is possibly places in both parts of my shunt that could be discontinuous . Since this past October it’s been very painful where the shunt starts on the side of me head. Some days it unbearable the pain is. This thing is I feel it daily and it travels down the side of my neck where my tubing of the shunt is. I’m not due to see a neurosurgeon til Jan 2 . Been waiting to see one since October. Don’t know if I can stand going through what I’m feeling on a daily basis. I know what’s involved if the surgeon elects to operate on me. I have to admit though it scares the hell out of me too with the possibility having to be operated on. Has anyone with a shunt had to have there’s replaced before? Thanks
