Hi I am new here and hoping for advice on my mother in law. She is 92 lives in a home and been taking antiepileptic drugs for the past year after having sepsis. Her fits take the form of twitching and shaking but never been investigated just given the drugs. She recently had a fall and was taken to hospital where they doubled her drug dose and these caused awfull hallucinations that were terrifying to her. Doctor weaned her off and started on new drug but after 4 days the hallucinations are back. Is this a common reaction to all antiepileptic drugs or is she just unlucky. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
