I was wondering if anyone had any alternatives to Lamictal, because I’m having some side effects that are not helpful at all and are actually making things much worse. Thanks

Generalised tonic clonic seizures with absences

I have had tonic clonic seizures for several years now (44), and have been on Carbamazepine and Phenytoin for a long time. They both control my seizures. We are all different but they might help somewhere.

It's worth speaking to the Doctor about... They are older medications but work well for me. Good luck and keep us posted.

I have the same type of epilepsy. I've been on keppra and felbatol (I also believe they are older medications). More recently, I was put on Onfi for better seizure control. I would look up these medications prior to seeing my doctor. This way you can come up with additional questions these medications may bring up. Best of luck!
