Has anyone had surgery for mesial sclerosis on the temporal lobe?

Hi, I had surgery for temporal lobe epilepsy in 1989. This was successful for 9 years, but then it returned. So I got back on medication which worked, but then in November 2017, my seizures returned AGAIN! So far, my last seizure now was back in August 2019.

Is surgery something you are definitely having done, or are you just considering it at this stage?

Thanks for replying. My doctor has told me that I have tried every med on the market and will not improve unless I have surgery. I have mild seizures every 2 weeks.

I am obviously worried about surgery and the side effects and need to decide if it is worth doing or actually necessary

What are the drs offering for surgeries?

I am not sure what the temporal lobectomy.

My procedure was called Amgydalahippocampectomy.
