heartburn and indigestion

Hi all,

Are any of you on Zonisamide? and if so do any of you suffer from heartburn and indigestion in the evenings? I seem to be suffering from this and wondered if it may be related to taking zonisamide as the time scale of when i started taking it seems to match when the problem started...

Thanks in advance :)

I am not on this particular one but anti-epileptics in general are notorious for this. My GP has put me on omeprozole to prevent it happening

I've no experiences with your prescription, but I know that the energy in my body being heightened by the nerve activity. Can be controlled a lot better by carbohydrate foods, and hot drink doesn't do my digestion or heartburn any good. My breathing activity is a key to epilepsy, it can control a seizure in a pattern of breathing in the nose holding for a second or two. Then breathing out of the mouth, this will send blood fully oxygenated around the body. It can slow my heart down, and weaken my nerve activity creating a more, relaxed state of thought and feeling in the body.

yes seems to be a normal thing have you found anything thing that we can take to stop it. im not too bad hope your well.

I don't know much about Zonisamide but know I have serious stomach cramping or bloating at times, which can be the cause of too much acid. The doctor put me also on Omeprazole, as Tazzy2 has mentioned. All the best - hope you find a solution to the problem!
