I have catamenial epilepsy and an internal brain injury from cancer so my recovery is now much more slow and takes about a week to feel more back to myself again. Does anyone have similar experiences and suggestions for how they improve their recovery? Tia

Good morning, they haven’t given my epilepsy a specific name, but I have a non resolving blood clot in my brain (chronic venous sinus thrombosis). They believe this causes my seizures. I too find recovery very slow: weak, confused, weepy, depressed ☹️.
It normally takes over a week to recover. I’ve asked my consultant more than once about this - I find it harder than the seizure itself. His response has been that they can do nothing for it, beyond trying to stop the seizures in the first place. I’m now on two different drugs, which have so far got me through the last 6 months without a seizure 🤞
Thanks for your message and it's brilliant that the 2 different drugs have helped during the last 6 months.
One thing I'm doing is telling my family that my recovery is now for this long, so they understand if I'm anxious, emotional or irritable from being stressed and/or tired. I also try and get out for a walk when I can (or even sit outside for 10/15 mins) as this makes a difference with perspective, mindset and health (inc. Vit D as well)👍
