Has antone had a eaction to anti biotics while taking lamotregine

Hi,

Are you having a particular concern at the moment or are you due to start taking antibiotics. I took lamictal for about 2-3 years. I did have antibiotics during this time and didn't have any serious issues. I know that some antibiotics can lower the threshold and affect of anticonvulsants but your gp should take this into account and prescribe accordingly. If in doubt speak to the GP or pharmacist and detail your current seizure status to determine what antibiotic will both make you feel better and have less of a possible affect on your tablets

Hi - I have also had antibiotics twice while taking Lamotrigine - quite a high dose of 500mgs daily - and had no problems at all. I can't remmeber which ones I was prescribed - one was for a chest infection and the other for a urinary tract infection.
