New seizure

I usually have complex partial seizures but yesterday it went from complex to tonic clonic. Is this something to be concerned about? The neurologists at the VA hospital are a little tough to get ahold of sometimes. Thanks

Hello,

I hope your neurologist will respond if you write regarding your recent experience. It’s important to seek advice and importantly let the medics know the changes as they occur as they will be able to advise re medication or further tests. But don’t just let changes go unnoticed. There’s no need to worry unduly as epilepsy can change like this, but my previous comments are merely my own experience. Hope that helps.

Thank you that helps a lot!

Hey I only began having seizures at 41 last September 🙄 mine have changed over the 8 months, they’ve gone from daytime tonic clonic, to absence seizures and now to night time tonic clonic seizures, obviously the changes are worrying just keep your nurses & neurologist updated, As Beansheen said don’t let the changes go unnoticed, my meds have gradually been increased and apparently I’m on max dose now but still having seizures monthly 🤦‍♂️ keep ya chin up 👍🏽
