Hi there,

I'm certain you aren't alone in having that problem. It happens to me if I take too much of my medicine by accident. Or sometimes if I take my evening dose late in the evening.

It might be that your medicine dose needs adjusting, I would recommend you go to your GP and let them know. They should be able to give you a blood test to check if the level of the medicine in your blood is higher than it should be.

I hope that is of some help,

Tom

I think they arent doing you any good that sounds like bad side effects i would really go to the doctor or speak to a neurologist at your local hospital i have tried alot of tablets and the only time i ever had problems like that was when i was allergic to them even though i had been on them a while strange but very true

I think going to see your neurologist is a good idea as this side effects sound horrible. I don't get double vision but at times my eyes fine it hard to track moving objects. Losing balance for me has always been a sign that a seizure is possible if I don't stop what I am doing and rest.

This reply won't be much help to you. My daughter has epilepsy and also has severe learning difficulties, so she couldn't tell us what side effects she might suffer from her cocktail of AEDs, eg double vision.

What drugs are you taking? Your reply (if you're happy to tell me) will help me discuss any likely effects with my daughter's neurologist.

Thank you, and good luck. Robert

Hello. I had this side-effect but only after my tablet dosage was put up. My balance was so bad I had to hold on to the walls as I walked and I remember calling my mum in floods of tears because I couldn't open my eyes due to double vision. I spoke with my neurologist and they assured me it would dissipate quite quickly and that it was due to my increase in Carbamazepine. I am happy to say it had almost gone, however, if I get too tired my balance and vision does get slightly dodgy. Hope that's helped a little. Lucy x

When I took epenutin I had terrible double vision and dizzyness. After about 18 months I moved area and the GP sent me to a neurologist who told me that the double vision/dizzyiness was a rare side effect of epenutin (phenytoin) and to come off immediately and never take it again.

That was 40 years ago. And I have not taken it again. And I have been OK.

Do see a neurologist, cos double vision and dizzyness is not acceptable.
