I've been having real small seizures the last week or so, now I'm having difficulty remembering... What should I do?

I was diagnosed about 11 years ago with epilepsy... I also had my first stroke that year.

My son trouble with his memory, but as the other person said, a bit of brain damage is caused every time a seizure occurs, and I, also, would recommend the doctor

I have never heard that every time you have a seizure it causes brain damage, maybe you mean a stroke.

I have Epilepsy caused by I think a small TIA ( mini stroke)

I have a condition called Hughes syndrome ( Antiphospholipid syndrome, sticky blood) all the same condition it can cause strokes as well as a lot more problems, including memory

You will be probably have not been tested for it as a lot of Neurologists have problems believing it exists.

Please look at the Health unlocked site on here on Hughes syndrome where it will be explained a lot better than I can.

Their is treatment for it, but I also have to take anti epileptic medication for the seizures, perhaps you need yours reviewed.

Good luck, really hope things can improve for you

Yes I think your first action should see your Dr.and then try to see your neurologist ASAP so that you drugs can be reviewed. Also what has been different this last week....has anything be the trigger ?? Do hope you get it sorted

I think you must visit to your consulting Neuro Surgeon so that new drugs can be introduced to you for proper medication. I think doctor will solve your problem with effective medication

I have sympathy. I have had awful memory since I began to have seizures aged 14. Even though I have now not had any for over 6 years, I think it has done permanent damage somewhere. Luckily, I'm quite good at laughing it off when I can't remember things, but sometimes I do feel like an idiot. This weekend I saw my sister after she'd got back from Australia. She told us she flew on a "double decker plane" and I said "Wow, I've never been on one of those", only to be told by my husband, "Er, yes you have, just a year ago; you were excited about it"! I believe him, but I wouldn't have been able to tell you!

Like the others said, if there has been a big change get an appt ASAP with a doctor, and even before that, call a doctor or nurse for a chat if you can.

Best Wishes,

Amy
