Can anyone explain to me Refractory Epilespy and what treatments have people experienced?

Refractory Epilepsy is , I think, where no medication is working to control it yet. And obviously a number of medications have been tried.

Hello msjenfu, the official definition of refractory is still disputed, but the International League Against Epilepsy describes it as being where two or more appropriately chosen and well tolerated anti-epileptic drugs fail to adequately control a person's seizures. It's quite a loose definition and it is intended that practitioners use it as a guideline when treating people, as everyone is unique. I hope that this helps. All the best, ERUK
