I had my surgery to treat endometriosis on Friday. I’m still in hospital recovering (tomorrow will be my third day). I had over half a litre of ovarian cyst fluid taken out and adhesions taken off my fallopian tube. I don’t know much else other than that.
Does anyone have any tips on recovering well from your personal experience.
Thanks

I had a large endometrioma/ovary/tube removed, so not the same surgery - hopefully someone else will reply who had something more similar, but so you've got at least one response...
Initially, I tried to do what I'd read in 'enhanced recovery' leaflets (I'd found online before my surgery - nothing from the hospital)... getting up and walking as soon as possible, eating normally as soon as possible (I think it's supposed to help clear the gas - in hospital, I chose foods that I could take my time with so I'd have almost my normal meal amounts but really spread out - I do think that helped), take deep breaths even if it's a bit sore (helps avoid chest problems).
Ask for pain/nausea medicine if you need it.
Once home, I found I overdid it easily, so I think it's a mix of moving around and doing what you can (gently), but also getting plenty of rest.
I had surgery Thurs stayed in for 1night had endometriosis removed from bowel, pelvis and cyst drained from ovary. Ovaries have been suspended got to go back next week for these to be released. I had no information on discharge about what I should be doing. Peppermint tea is good for the gas I am still having pain moving around a bit is definitely needed but I cannot stand up by myself and the car journey home was uncomfortable. A blankets on my tummy for seatbelt was a must. Been signed off for 3 weeks to start with. Hope you get to go home soon.
I'm very keen into fitness (weights in particular) so if anyone has advice around when is realistic to start doing anything I would appreciate it as I don't want to cause damage
