Endo UK Looking for Volunteer Advocates

Stumbled on this by chance. Log on to Endometriosis UK, click on get involved then become a volunteer advocate. Deadline for applications in Scotland is today but the Welsh deadline is Monday 8th August.

Has anyone applied?

No I haven't but I read about it. I live in north London and noticed that there isn't a support group in north London. I was wondering whether it was something I could start. What do the advocates do?

Hey! Basically they provide 1-1 support, liaise with relevant parties on their behalf, represent them at meetings or appointments and help empower them to manage their condition.

You could defo start a group in your area, you should look into it. My nearest group is over an hour away and is too far for me to travel. I would love to attend a group nearer me x

Hi,

Theres no group in my area either & I wish I had time to organise one but work full time & have teen sons who require me to do many things with them when not working! I'm just too spread thin

Shame cos I'd love to be an advocate & I'm very into Union support & it seems similar in many ways.

If only I worked p/t
