The Seasons

Tonight the song in my head is 'Pictures Of Matchstick Men'

The night sky overhead zooms out to infinity,

Clouds assemble themselves for tomorrow's journeys,

Birds asleep clothed in feathers, bright and blue.

Winter lies ahead, unknown but familiar,

We get older,

The seasons arrive each year afresh,

Reborn, a theatre stage for our misdoings and regrets.

Have you always written poetry or is this a new thing? This is very evocative.

Hi Wygella, thank you.

This poem made me shed tears a couple of times after I had written it.

And still does.

It seems so beautiful to me.

I have always written poetry, since I was about ten.

Best wishes, G2

I’m so pleased for me as well as you, that this gift was one that stayed with you post E. Keep writing please.

Thank you, I will.

(I don't plan them, they just seem to happen.

I do tidy them up a little punctuation wise.)
