Good morning May I ask how long since you had Encephalitis?

Hi Makbil, sorry to hear you are having memory problems. They are just one of the many issues enc sufferers come across. I'm possibly in an opposite situation as my daily routine is a big helper in keeping me on track - as long as it doesn't become too confining.

If I have a change of routine - like hospital, appointments, visit from a community nurse or a holiday; it can take me days to recover from the new sights and sounds and get back to normal. A 16 hour sleep after a new situation can be pretty normal. If you give some more details it may help.

I can see you are a 36 year old female in Turkey from your profile but I don't know anything about healthcare over there. I'm in the UK and we have the NHS which has been a lifesaver for me. I get support via my NHS doctor who put me in touch with a Social Worker who organised various support agencies.

Just getting enc diagnosed is a struggle, getting appropriate treatment may an uphill battle.

My history is in my previous posts. Best Wishes G2

You are not alone Makbil. Most of us have had memory loss and we know how hard this can be . Have you anyone who can help you where you live?

I am living with my family. But they are old parents. I want to do my routine things alone.

I’ve been there… there is a new memory medication in which you could very potentially benefit from as I have, Donzepizil HCL; definitely speak to your neuroimmunologist or specialty provider about it.

Hi Makbil,

I'm so so sorry to hear that. 💔

I never had anything like that, but I have had other long term after effects, like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - OCD, anxiety, clinical depression, paranoia, disinhibition, a slower processing speed, executive dysfunction and a short attention span.

I sincerely hope you get all the help you need and are entitled to.
