This journalist , Simon Hattenstone , caught encephalitis 51 years ago, when he was just 9 years old. Now he’s 60, and he describes how his life his been on the encephalitis recovery journey . It’s a really interesting read .

Thanks so much for sharing this HSE_Survivor – I really like Simon’s writing and great that he raises the profile of encephalitis as an excellent journalist who’s had it. We all have different experiences of it of course but I take a lot of heart from the things I read about that are familiar in his writing, just as I do on this group too. I’ve definitely had ‘one of those weeks’ getting my head around what is good and what is not so good in my life. I say ‘one of those weeks’ although I’m unsure when that will ever stop … I’ve got many many more years to go before I catch up with Simon!
