Cramps - Any tips

My 78 yr old mother who had encephalitis early 2019 is now suffering from severe cramps. She already sleeps 22 hours a day so do not want to add another medication that will add to this issue. Any ideas how I can give her some relief

Are these stomach cramps or muscle cramps. I use zinc and magnesium to alleviate muscle cramps. Maybe check it's not blockage in the gut. Check with gp.

Thank you for responding. Generally the cramps are in her left leg or arm, You can feel how tight the muscles are sometimes. It’s such a shame because she is so rarely awake and now her periods of alertness are so painful. She is fed via peg so I am sure it’s not diet related. I have tried Massaging with Magnesium oil

Magnesium and zinc are very quick acting for my inside thigh cramps. I can't cross my legs or sit curled up either, it sets it off.

Ok, May have to resort to the baclofen and put up with side effects. Does anyone have any experience with this medication

It's addictive. Hubby grew to depend on this after it dulled him so much after a seizure. More at risk of falls and less cognitive input
