Sinusitis
Hi Jules3983 my name is Maria I live in Spain and I have the same problem and it is getting worse over the years I have to take antibiotics every few month, in the last years I can’t drink wine. Is yours as bad ?
I used to suffer from this, but I desensitised myself from things, through using nasal irrigation. Get proper saline salts and use a netipod, do this twice a day, morning and night, and you will see dramatic results in the space of a week I was less sensitive and able to function. After 3 weeks I reduced to once a day and I have never had a issue since, i use it once a week now 2 years on.
Hi thanks for reply what sort of saline salt do you use ?
Hi Jules3983. I've also been living with it and use a saline solution that I make at home. I'd recommend either a pre-made solution from the shop, but you can rack up a bill if it's a chronic problem. For a homemade solution, for every quart of freshly boiled and cooled water, use a teaspoon of non-iodated salt, and just less than a teaspoon of bicarb of soda. Works a charm for me. Hope this helps.
Hi thanks for reply has yours gone or do you still suffer ? Mine has gone on for seven month and still not getting any better
Honestly it comes and goes. I've never found a long term solution. The best result I've had is a rinse 3-5 times a week and a steroid nasal spray once a day. Sometimes you have to ride out the allergy and just let it pass, sometimes it kicks your backside and you feel like there's a soccer ball in your sinuses. Unfortunately, there's not a one-size-fits-all solution.
From personal experience I can tell you that daily garlic capsules (Nature’s Aid brand in the UK) and daily (homemade) saline nasal spray can make a massive difference to sinusitis symptoms. NHS (in the U.K.) advice on how to make a safe saline solution below.
Thank I will give this a go .
