Slightly embarassing question. Does anyone else suffer the symptom of urine incontinence?

Just wondering if this is yet another symptom of M.E or if it is something else.

I have ME also... I do suffer from stress incontinence but only usually when I cough hard.. not at other times. There are pelvic floor exercises you can do...but really I don't think continual urine incontinence is a ME problem xxx

I have both M.E. and Fibro and yes, at 27 with no children I am incontinent. It got to the stage where I was wearing adult nappies all day and night, I also have frequent UTI's. Incontinence is common with M.E. and Fibro though one doesn't have to have both. I am on tablets now to help me hold on long enough to go to the loo, or even realize I need to go! Good luck with it, we don't judge here.

yes since I had my daughter and pelvic floor exercises never helped, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and put on duloxatine and thats helped but still "leak" everyday. Yes its embarrassing but there is a condition called over active bladder and the doctors can help with that xx

During my journey, I did have instances of stress incontinence but as I now recognise, these times were when my nerves were at their shortest length! In this acute phase I had tremors of the hands and spasms of the feet, numbness of right leg, I was hiding from the light and noise. At a guess, looking back, it was an indication of my nervous system being insufficiently supported by the necessary vitamins and minerals and my lymphatic system being blocked and full of a virus running riot in my body. At this time, adrenalin was driving my system rather than normal sensory input and reaction. I think most helpful to me was the high doses of multi-vit B and vit D, magnesium and bromelain for anti-inflammatory response. This helped me sleep which improved my system. Make sure you are asleep by 12 as at 2pm your body goes into healing mode, if you are not asleep at 2am you cant heal properly. Eat at regular times in the day. Exercise at regular times. Be like clockwork with your body so it can sense your rhythm. Anything for your nervous system, take it. All foods for nervous system eat it. Chamomile or Valerian tea in the evening and all day. As a thought check any side effects of any medication you might be taking as this may be reacting with other medication causing your bladder response to be weakened. For me, this response to exercise or coughing came from the brain rather than muscular weakness.

Hi, I have ME and I too get periods of incontinence, especially when my other symptoms are not good. I sometimes get the opposite as well where during the night I wake up desperate for the loo and I just can't go! There is an app for pelvic floor muscle exercises produced by Tena called My PFF. It is easy and can be done sitting down. It has helped me.

I use adult brief all the time also - I have no bowel or bladder control since an accident four years ago. I have learned to self manage.
