I was recently in India and saw a ayurvedic Dr for my CFS.  He said it's because the vata is out of balance. We all have 3 dishes, vata, pitta and kapha but one is dominant. This causes us to be dry.  He recommended drinking plenty of water. Avoiding alcohol and white sugars and oiling the body daily with sesame oil.

This a new one on me. I've had ME most of my life and my skin has always been oily!

I never knew that.  I believe dry skin is a symptom of thyroid problems.  Have you had your thyroid checked out?  My skin is dry but I think it's because it's been covered up all winter.  You could try some dry brushing and see how you get on.

I have a dry skin and every time I shower in a few hours my skin falls of like dandruff but it's better if I don't shower! I suppose that showering washes the oils off my body and causes this? Yes, I think that it's worse in the winter when everything is covered up.
