I have recently been prescribed diclofenic for my CFS.But the common side effects include drowsiness and pains in your arms and legs.I have no idea if this is something I should continue to take as the medicine treats the CFS but then leaves me with the side effects of the tablets. I would like to know what everyone thinks on my situation

medicine problems
Hi Heather.
Personally I have never heard of diclofenac being used to ease CFS but it is a pain killer and anti-inflammatory so it seems to make sense to try it. But that is just my opinion as I am not a medical person. Bear in mind, as yet, no medicine will actually treat it as in cure it, but it may help ease some of your symptoms.
Only you and your GP (or prescribing doctor) can really decide what you should or shouldn't take for your condition. Particularly with complex conditions like ME, Fibromyalgia or CFS there are so many symptoms which we may or may not have. Plus we all react differently to different medicines for all sorts of reasons.
I can only suggest you try it as your doctor and pharmacy have advised and see what happens. Have you read the label to check the contraindications, do you have a different condition that the medication could make worse, are you taking something else it could react with. I'm sure your GP and pharmacist have checked these things but it may help you to put your mind at rest if you check the information with the medicine.
If you then go on to suffer any side effects then just make a note of them and speak to your pharmacist or GP for further advice. Don't forget not everybody suffers the possible side effects listed and the paperwork often tells you the statistical likelihood of it happening.
Hope you get on ok. Gentle hugs, Margaret.xx
