Hi! I posted here a few days ago and got a lot of helpful answers so here I am again. I have a large staghorn kidney stone in my left kidney and I also have Nephrocalcinosis. I am very new to both of these. I was just recently diagnosed and I go to a specialist June 4th. To try and at least help my kidney function I’ve been drinking more water. I drink about 80-90 oz a day. Well it has made me feel awful. I stand up and I get dizzy, my heart beat as my irregular. I was in the bathroom every hour, so I cut it down a little and now I’m hardly going to the bathroom at all. 12+ hours. Is this something to be concerned about? I’m considering calling the one dr I did see. I’m not trying to cause more damage here but I feel terrible.

I would definitely call the doctor you saw. It is normal that when you drink a lot of fluids that you have to go to the bathroom a lot. That is good, because it shows that your kidneys are getting rid of the fluid like they should and hopefully filtering the "bad" stuff out. That said, you should still have to use the bathroom throughout the day, at least every 3-4 hours, even if not drinking fluids like you were. Not going for 12 hours is not normal. I would worry that the kidney stone is blocking the flow of urine to your bladder. Especially feeling dizzy, etc. could be something serious.

Take care and let us know how you are doing!
