Hi folks I am trying this a teaspoon in water as some claim it helps reduce urea acid levels in the blood also have added broccoli beetroot and prickly pear to my diet as they are supposed to be good for your kidneys (pity I didn't take better care of them before)

Any dietary tips or suggestions?

HI JOKE- MY SON WHO HAS AUTO IMMUNE PROBLEMS, RA AND MORE-HAS BEEN RECOMMENDING APPLE CIDER VINEGAR FOR YEARS- TOUGH TO TAKE BUT STARTED IT. 15 YEARS AGO AT AGE 31, HE WAS IN WHEEL CHAIR. HE HAS BEEN WATCHING HIS DIET, AND IS NOW ACTIVE AND MUCH HEALTHIER. HAS PAIN ON OCCASION, BUT PUSHES THROUGH IT AND ADJUST DIET. NO MEDS AT ALL---THEY CAUSED HIM MORE PROBLEMS THAN THE ILLNESS. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A HIGH ACID CONDITION, BUT HAD NO IDEA WHAT DAMAGE IT COULD DO. BROCCOLI IS GOOD- WAS EATING PLENTY- THEN FOUND OUT HIGH IN POTASSIUM-WHICH IS NOT GOOD-PHOSPHORUS, EITHER. CAN GET VERY CONFUSING. WISH SOMEONE WOULD COOK FOR ME- ACCORDING TO "RULES" AND DELIVER- THEN PERHAPS I WILL ONLY BE EATING WHAT I SHOULD. CERTAIN FOODS GOOD FOR KIDNEY-I CAN'T EAT-SPINACH, SWEET POTATOES, BEANS- ALL CAUSE KIDNEY STONES- HAD NO SYMPTOMS OF STONES-FOUND BY ACCIDEENT IN XRAY- LARGE ENOUGH TO START BLOCKING RIGHT KIDNEY FUNCTION. DIET FOR STONES COMPLETELY CONFLICT WITH DIET FOR DISEASE. THE ONLY THINGS I MAINTAIN DAILY IS 60 OZ OF WATER PER DAY AND KEEP PROTEIN INTAGE TO 40g OR LESS. BEYOND THAT, I AM LOST. AM TRYING, PRAYING AND TRUSTING GOD- HE IS THE ONLY AND FINAL ANSWER.

its difficult to give dietary tips as i dont know your age , how ever if u are above 60 , do not eat red meat ,tubers grown underground, bcos they contain lot of potasium, also try virgin olive oil and,a green apple a day , do this one month then check your gfr and tests to satisfy yourself.

Go on browsing internet u will get more informations

Hi,

I have high Creatine levels, swollen ankles, and breathlessness, diagnosed as COPD......but both these illnesses cause Breathlessness, so I am going to try Cider Vinegar and see if that will help, this breathlessness and difficulty breathing is really very depressing, I am unable to do much at all .

I'd love to see exactly what is the recommended diet for ckd sufferers

As alot of things and info conflict with each other all I know is to avoid salt and grape juice

kithsirid profile image

As i understand not more than 50 grames of protein is suitable for ckd patients , if u try your best u can control your ckd level.give up smoking ,alcohol, and idling

drink at least 1.5 litres of water every day ,

Eat less every time,,keep your system well hydrated, watermelon is a good vegi for that.

My email id is wikibad@gmail.com.

YES, PLEASE LET ME KNOW- ONE DOC TOLD ME APPLE CIDER VINEGAR GOOD FOR ME- ANOTHER IN SAME PRACTICE SAID NO. INFO ON CKD HAS COME A LONG WAY-NOT FAR ENOUGH. GENERAL DOCTORS DON'T HAVE ENOUGH INFO. AS YOU GET OLDER- THEY ATTRIBUTE CKD TO AGING, AND MANY TIMES DON'T EVEN ADVISE YOU THAT YOU HAVE IT. TRUSTING GOD-OUR ONLY HOPE AND ANSWER. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
