Sorry to hear that. Work places can be pretty mixed when it comes down to this. Sometimes it not even worth bringing up as it just makes things worse.

Have you read Overcoming Dyslexia M.D., Sally Shaywitz also available in audio book.

I think you need to talk to the HR department. Dyslexia is a protected characteristic in the disability discrimination act.

Your employer has a duty to support you.

If they fail to support you, well thats discrimination.

Good luck.

sorry to hear that your experience is diminished. Honestly your employer is breaking the law by doing this. Dyslexia counts as a disability under the disabilities act and if they refuse to make adjustments you should speak to you union and consider action. Or if you don’t want to do anything that drastic look at improving conditions so that your dyslexia impacts you less. If you are in the uk you can apply to

gov.uk/access-to-work/apply

for some tactical tools and support and there’s lots of info here

cdn.bdadyslexia.org.uk/uplo...

simplebooklet.com/bdatoptip...

these have info about workplace situations and your rights.

good luck . i am dyslexic too .

If you are in the UK you can apply to access to work for an assessment of what reasonable adjustments you need in the workplace to help you. I would also speak to your HR department as it sounds like this company could be in breach of the equality act

This information is very helpful I’m on the Gov.Uk website now reading up on it .

Just wondering now if I should apply first or get in touch with first HR .

Thank you very much ClareLou

you can do both at the same time it may take a while for any equipment you need to arrive and HR will be able to give you some advice on what you can have in place in the mean time
