Driving and dyslexia

I have dyslexia and i was only diagnosed with this 3 years ago but passed all theory and practice test first till 13 years. Didn't do anything different from everyone else at the time just had to be alerte and safety of your self and other drivers wasn't hard really just common sense and any one can get a driving license it's that easy.

When I was diagnosed I had more trouble with left n right directions I get lost driving round block if I any to careful, just really wish I could find a easy and brmest sat jab for my dyslexia as it's what has always been a issue of my ability to get out and frustrating when it holds u back from going every where u wish you could when you pass it test but I am restricted to simple small same old trips I wish I could go exploring and travel but it's not a easy task to do with dyslexia and i have tried so many times before but failed every time.

Getting license every one can get

Using it for your self and being independent may be not

Getting use to driving round never happens either one day u r perfect driving the next day u can't even remember what way is right or left and lane changes on 5 lane round bouts exits on M25 when to move off I have never been able to get right even with sat jab or advanced planning street view photo

I found driving an automatic helped me a lot as it meant i was using less brain power on coordinating, which gave me more capacity to think about other things like directions.

I use google maps as my sat nav.

In terms of big roundabouts could you go for a test drive when it’s less busy so you can practice with less pressure?

I think also remembering not too be too harsh on yourself if you do miss a direction on a sat nav I find giving myself extra time in case I make a mistake helps.

You are so right. I still can't do motorways - I'm best at driving on familiar roads, which is very restricting. Some days I drive with confidence, but others I prefer to be driven. It depends on my mood. But I have never been a confident driver. i passed my test the first time too.

The other thing I did when I past my test was I did pass plus so you go on motorways etc with your instructor so maybe that helped me feel more prepared
