`My choices are based on preference rather than for their individual health benefits as I'm not diabetic, and only live with one. I also love pistachios and cashews. My husband who is type 2 diabetic enjoys almonds.

Hi Sue,

Thank you for letting us know what different nuts you and your husband enjoy. I like pecans, walnuts, cashews, peanuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds and pine nuts. I add some of them to big salads now and then.😀👍🥜

Monkey nuts are slang term for peanut still in the shell or pod. The pod breaks easily the raw nut has a red brown skin, usually removed when processed.

Thank you for letting me know that about the peanuts/monkey. I have those on my salad and/or mixed with fruit as a parfait.😀👍🥜

They come in an outer shell and usually have 2 peanut kernels inside. They are on the softer side but not too soft, the thing is they are very addictive and before you notice, you have eaten loads and they are very messy to have because when you break them open, little slithers of shell and what I can only describe as dust comes off. I love them. 🥜

Do you have the cashews on the side with a meal/in a salad or as a snack? :-)

Just as a snack, not a regular choice though.

That's okay. I have the cashews sometimes on a salad or on the side when having a meal. I have them as a snack when I'm hungry, but the blood sugars aren't that low at the time. :-)
