The cycling goes under exercise equipment for house/gym.😀👍🌈

That's a great idea for exercises and blood sugar control. Do you do swimming year round or just certain times of the year? :-)

Open water and pool in the summer: pool only in the winter (I am a wimp!)

Don’t say that you’re ‘a wimp’ in the Winter months. You do more swimming than I do.😀👍🌈

Walking

That’s great! How far do you go on your walks?😀👍🌈

I have a spinal problem which greatly impacts my mobility. As such, I do some gentle chair exercises, go for a short walk (with a thousand breaks and rests) when I feel able as well as focusing on upper body exercises with hand weights. All of this is only when I feel I have the energy and will, so not regularly.

I try to rise and move from my chair as often as possible as the pain of staying seated is often worse than the pain of moving about although the exhaustion of moving about is far worse than the pain of sitting. A conundrum wrapped in chronic pain and fatigue!

As such, I was felt a bit of a fraud in ticking any of the boxes above with any semblance of honesty as I'd consider myself as being relatively inactive if you discount pottering around in my home where I'm less fearful of falling.

Pottering/walking in your house is a great idea for exercise. I do this when I don’t get to go outside because I still have to do self isolation. I only get to go out for certain appointments that can’t be done over the phone/video chat/visual appointment.😀👍🌈

How do you feel this evening?

Thank you so much for your lovely response.

Yes. Same here. Still feel like I'm isolating as all my checks and health appointments so far have been online.

For some unknown reason, I've always felt worse in the mornings and in the early evenings but once the 'heaviness' has passed, I can suffer from terrible insomnia and a restlessness - finding it difficult to sleep through the night, regardless of the amitriptyline. The CPAP machine doesn't help either. But I'm not complaining this Covid 2020 as there are far too many people worse of than me.

Hope you're keeping well, pacing and coping. I admit that It's very comforting to know that I'm not alone, even though I also conflicted because it means your situation is as 'difficult' as mine! I try to focus on distraction, meditation and positive thinking with some days being 'easier' than others.

Thanks again and all the best going forward. Please put me down for Walking, if that will help with the survey.

No worries! :-) As long as you wrote walking on the comments, it counted. :-)

You're very welcome! You're not alone. If you ever want to talk/rant about anything, we will be here to help and listen anytime. :-)

That's very good exercise! How long each day do you do the walking?

I try to do the recommended minimum of 150mins a week of moderate exercise which in my case is achieved by brisk walking. I use the free Active10 app which monitors all your walking by day, week and month, and how much of it was brisk. I like to see if I can increase my activity in each period. The good thing about the app is that once it is installed on your phone it works automatically, without you having to start it off as you set out, unlike things like MapmyWalk app.

That’s fantastic to hear. Keep it up with your walking.😀👍🌈
